What to Expect

Starting Therapy

Sessions are usually 50–60 minutes long and are held weekly to monthly, depending on your circumstances.

When you book your first session, you will be asked to sign a standard waiver form and may be asked to complete a DASS questionnaire or other relevant documents for Medicare rebates.

The initial consultation tends to focus on your current concerns, some history taking, paperwork, and your goals for therapy.

Sessions early in therapy work towards reducing distress. Further sessions focus more on the origins of the issues and deeper therapeutic work.
